We're about to start a kitchen remodel and will be installing a 36" induction range. We are considering a Wolf, but I really don't want to spend that much nor do I know we need something with all those bells and whistles. We're also looking at a Mongram; but it may overkill, too. The other option we're looking at is a Frigidaire.

I'm a pretty good cook, but I'm no expert chef. We host dinner parties occasionally.

This is going to (hopefully) end up being a very nice remodel. Not over the top, but we are trying to do it right. I don't mind spending a bit on the right appliance.

Thoughts? Experiences? Other induction ranges you have experience with we should consider?

We looked at Bosch. But their 36" ranges are now made by SMEG, but branded as Bosch. What I've read about SMEG is not encouraging. Which is a bummer because we really like our Bosch dishwasher.

I bought new home, builder uses Jennaire we got LUSTRE 36" INDUCTION FLEX COOKTOP. I like it because you have 6 Burners in 3 rows and can bridge any of the rows front to back. You will love cooking on induction better control of temperature and boiling water in less than 2 minutes. May need new pans We went with All Clad and they are great.

We switched to an induction range when we remodeled our kitchen 10 years ago. Our sis a GE and has been fantastic. Would never go back to gas.

I'd imagine all of the inductions have gotten better since we installed ours.

We have a Bosch induction. We cook a lot. Took a while to get used to:

Different pans cook differently depending on how many of the burners are being used and what food you're cooking.

For example, if I make pancakes with my 8 inch skillet it doesn't cook as well as my 12 inch skillet, etc.

After a while you figure out the matrix of power to burners in use and skillet sizes.

If I could plumb my kitchen for gas I would but we'd have to go thru the ceiling or foundations.

If you like to cook, most definitely go with gas.

I've been using a GE Profile induction for about 8 or 9 years now and honestly, it's been a dream to cook with, especially with my cast iron collection!

We had a GE Profile in our house that recently burned down. Rebuilding on the lot and considering gas but will most likely go with another GE induction. Loved it!

I am sorry for your loss! Even if you go with induction, I would go ahead and plumb for gas as well to give future options down the road.

Keep in mind when making these decisions. Wolf is a third generation family owned company focused solely on high end appliances with their foundation being quality and longevity. Every Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove product is built and designed to last a minimum of 20 years. All product is 100% factory tested and they partner with premiere service companies for repair and warranty issues. So yes, the cost is higher up front, but the savings over the time of ownership pays off. If you are in Houston or Dallas a visit to their showroom is worth it. There is no sales pressure and you can have a consultation with product knowledge experts to see if it is fit for you.
