Ran into a bit of a problem. The tile on the back of the niche in the bathroom on the other side of the wall was installed on the back side of the hardie backer board for the shower we were demo'ing.

Another slight issue was that the waterproofing membrane was found to not have been over the top plate here.

Less fittings and therefore less opportunities of failure and leaks.
