I wouldn't do it. It was already packed today and as the weekend gets closer it will get worse. I absolutely hate crowds and we live close by so it might not be that bad for you if you don't have another time to go.

I know someone who goes once a year on the 4th, because it is less crowded. I guess people are off doing other things.

MrsC2012, if you can wait, go the week that colleges start class in August. My wife and I used to wait to go that week since it was not very crowded. As far as the holiday weekend, we tried going on July 4 a couple of years ago. We decided we didn't want to pay admission just to stand in the lines.
