We'll be in town next weekend, going to Sea World for my daughter's 6th birthday. Can anyone recommend a good place for breakfast on Sunday's that is kid friendly?

In the sea world area or are you staying elsewhere?

We are staying right down the road from Sea World at the Hilton resort. But we are heading back to DFW arfterwards, so anything is in play.

I'm assuming your 6 year old would want some pancakes, not the typical breakfast taco joint which surrounds the sea world area. If my assumption is incorrect, search for the breakfast taco thread on this board.

If you want a chain that's close there is cracker barrel and IHOP.

If you want a local place with pancakes, I'd recommend the magnolia pancake house, or I see there is a place called pancake joes which is also highly rated.

You'll want to get to magnolia pancake house early because it gets crowded. Both of the local pancake places are ~25 minutes from sea world, but on the way back toward dallas from the Hilton.

Magnolia is the best you can get

So looking at their menu, I think Magnolia is it. My daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease yesterday after undergoing an upper GI (Happy birthday!). That they state that 70% of their menu can be ordered gluten free makes this place perfect. Thanks everyone!

You should ask this board where the best breakfast tacos are in San Antonio... Bill Millers is a good spot for breakfast tacos and they serve other breakfast items.

I may be in the minority but the original rudy's is good. It's all the franchised ones that aren't so great. The original is on I10 in Leon springs.

As for bills, their bbq is like McDonald's burgers. Don't expect the best, just quick and cheap.

Bill Miller's is good because it is consistent. It's certainly not great BBQ.

Their breakfast with pancakes is every bit as good as magnolia, and I'm a magnolia fan.

Love me some bill millers breakfast tacos. The rest is meh. But it will do if you're hungry and in a hurry

It depends on the type of breakfast taco you're wanting. A "traditional Tex-Mex-y" taco? Bill Millers is below mediocre. A "Texas" style breakfast taco with BBQ influences like brisket and smoked sausage? They really aren't that terrible.

But I don't think of Bill Millers/Rudy's/any other BBQ place's breakfast tacos when I think of breakfast tacos. I was raised in the RGV...so I'm used to a more Tex-Mex/border style, not a Texas-y style.

Bill Millers tacos rank up there and I have tried a ton of places.
