A coworker lives in my hood. Talking to his wife the other day about the traffic I mentioned asshats doing that. She went on and on about how she does it and people need to get over themselves. She didn't really have an answer when I pointed out all the wrecks that happen there from that crap. The new trick is cars going around the back of Family Dollar and Walgeens to get to the access road and the turnaround.

Latest gossip is fellow hoodrat reached out to TXDOT who confirmed there will be two turn lanes when the overpasses are complete.

That's a terrible intersection

I'm guessing all who posted above aren't far from my neighborhood.

This morning it was a ******** in an 18 wheeler dirt hauler. Held up the center lane to cut over.

Gawtamnit! Please tell me people at least protested in some way. Horns, fingers, fists, swerves, bombs, SOMETHING

I hate that intersection. Thankfully I only drive thru it heading to a friends house. Even then I usually cut over to bandera

I live near there and have never seen that (though I am at that intersection maybe twice a week).

My car is old and busted. Wouldn't mind being in the legal turn lane and providing some real-world consequences* for someone doing that.



*consequences are limited to messing up their car and mine, and nothing else.

I go through this intersection multiple times during the week and it's a very common occurrence. Usually, you can tell who is trying to skip the long line and looking for ANY bit of space to cut people off in that left turn lane. If they don't make it or aren't brave enough to almost take a bumper off, they will adopt a DGAF strategy and take that illegal left turn from the middle lane. For those who are a little less azzhole-ish, they will cut through the Walgreens parking lot (outside 1604) and take the turnaround OR they will go forward in the middle lane, hold up traffic to be able to turn into the gas station (inside 1604), and cut through that parking lot to get out onto 1604. It really causes a clusterf- k and puts people in danger.

Well crap. I thought someone had a tip for a good deal on themed underwear somewhere in town.

Oh yeah, it's a bummer about that intersection, though.

It's weird to me to see an overpass there...
