I am taking my 9 year old son on a "Tour of Texas" for the first weekend of his Spring Break. We are planning on being in San Antonio on Saturday, March 5th.

Of course, we want to visit the Missions. Should we walk/drive/bike the Missions Trail? Any other suggestions for what we should do on a Saturday in San Antonio? Recommendations for good places to grab a bite?

9 is probably a bit young to ride the Missions unless you do that kind of stuff regularly. It's around 12 miles round trip, IIRC. Worth it, but a bit of a ride.

They're have a small festival (Mockingbird Fest) at the Yanaguana Gardn in Hemisfair.

No idea how it will be, but the playground there is pretty damn good. The Missions are easy by car, the Alamo is walking distance too.

San Jose is still one of my favorites, if you choose only one.

The TEDxSanAntonio conference is that day. If you'd like to blow his mind.

Just ran across this Texas Monthly article about biking the trail. Not a bad write up.
