I'm considering a move to San Antonio and have school-aged children. What is the reputation of the newer Northside high schools Brandeis and O'Connor? Would you rate them near the Northeast schools like Reagan, Johnson and Churchill?

Thanks for any advice.

From what I hear O'Conner is a little better than Brandeis. I have no "dog in the fight" but I did graduate from Marshall in the mid 80's.

I've taught at OC for quite a few years now and love it. Honestly, though, Brandeis is a great school, as well. It's a little difficult to tell what exactly Harlan will look like. I believe it's going to pull a lot of population from Taft.
I can give you some comparisons to the NorthEast schools in private since the three you listed have their own "personalities". Message me if you would like some more info.

I have a daughter at Reagan and it's been very good. There are things I don't like, but I suspect that would be the case anywhere. The academics are ridiculous.

somehow if i happen to spawn a child and stay in the same house for ~14 years, i'll have a child that will attend that school.

In that case.....you're the one that needs the real estate agent. Please don't make a good kid attend Clark.

Clark is a good school. Pulls kids from Shavano, Dominion, Leon Springs, etc.

My good kid goes there.

I have two kids at Clark and they've had great experiences with both academics and athletics. The football team has struggled for the past few years, but other than that things are fantastic.

Yeah, I would say that there isn't a BAD HS on the northside. There are some that work better for your kid depending on what they are into, but all good schools.

Clark and Churchill are very similar (they share a border) in that they are almost two different schools on the same campus. The experience will be very different for the student whether they are in AP classes or not. A portion of the population comes from upper middle class and up / high achiever DNA, but another large portion comes from the other end of the socioeconomic spectrum.

We have 1 son who graduated from OC and is currently at TAMU and 2 sons at OC right now. We have loved it. All three have completely different interests and they've all really done great at OC. I think Brandeis is fine also though.

Clark is a good school . Brother goes there , any northside school is good except John Jay and Holmes. Brandies, O'Connor, Clark and Health Careers are the top schools in the district. Any of those three schools will be fine for your kid
