I've never used any of these services and I'm wondering if there's anything I need to know about taking them to and from the game.are they allowed to drop you off fairly close?

Last week I had Uber pick up my wife from Huebner Oaks and take her to the AT&T Center on a game night. They dropped her off at the Coliseum. Charged me $73. Outrageously high, but it saved us from having two cars down there and it was a work expense anyway.

Holy carp! Like I said I've never used either service, but both apps have fare estimators and they say roughly $20 each way. This is from my house near bitters/281. I think that's reasonable but don't wanna spend $150 round trip!

I wouldn't expect it to be that much on a regular basis. Timing could have been bad on their part.

Hell, my buddy took Uber from downtown to Hwy 46 and 281 and it was less than that.

That $75 dollar fare was likely because of surge pricing when demand is high.

Uber drivers will be able to drop you off on the sidewalk of AT&T Center Parkway. They won't be able to go through the gates.

Surge pricing is right. The app prompts you if you want to proceed during a surge time. I am not an advocate for taking it to the game. I am especially not an advocate of trying to use it to get home. You can end up waiting a long time.

So we took Lyft. Picked us up at my house near 281/bitters at 7:40. Dropped us off by the coliseum about 8:10 and the fare was right at $20. The uber app said there would be surge pricing at this time and the fare would be $25-34.

Took a cab home as there were several waiting and one agreed to take us for $30 all in. Anyway, I will definitely be taking Lyft anytime I go to an event and plan on drinking.
