I am relocating to San Antonio and am looking for a fun area to live. I am a 30 year old, single female and want to live where other singles my age live. Please help!

Need a little more information to help you with this decision. Tell us a little more about yourself. Height, weight, measurements etc. Posting pics would be helpful. So we can make sure we put you in the right place.

Everywhere. If I wanted to move I'd look at the st Mary's/Southtown. I don't so I'm north centralish and am 15 minutes from almost anywhere. Go against traffic most of the time as well.

Real answer, where are you planning on working? You'll want to be close to that I presume. What type of crowd do you like to hang out with also? That will dictate where you'll want to live. Lastly, where did you live before?

Seguin, ha! I work there 3 times a week. It is teeming with young vibrant singles.

My cousin is a good looking 30-something coach in Geronimo. He just called to let me know he's engaged though.

Seguin is definitely too far for my commute. I will be working off 1604 of Culebra Rd.
Things I like to do:
-Be outdoors (parks, hiking, bike riding, running, dog parks)
- Country music

The Pearl/Tobin Hill/River North area. Lots of new development/re-development surrounding the Pearl. Lots of young people flocking this way. 1800 Broadway, 1221 Broadway, The Mosaic, etc. Central to SA. Close to downtown/riverwalk, etc.

Southtown is also an option.

Or if living in the city/downtown isn't really your thing than La Cantera/The Rim area is where you want to be.

Pearl/Tobin/Lower Broadway. New lofts/condos and if you're going to work in the extremities, counter-commuting does not suck. The only decent country music venue is Flores in Helotes, but you don't want to live out there if you're looking to be around other young people. Avoid Cowboys, unless you're looking to get stabbed. Southtown is pretty hot now as well, as noted by Sher Thing.

Great Parks:
Riverwalk Extension/Breckenridge Park and the Southtown/mission reach.

The Seguin thing is a joke!! You would probably be best suited out near The Rim/La Cantera.

If I were young with some means, I'd live at the Pearl.

If I were slightly older and not needing as much action, I'd live at Eilan.

"With means" is an important statement here. Pearl is cool but it is pricey. Not sure many of those kids that live down there are making the wisest financial decision.

If you're going to be working near 1604 and Culebra, you want to live close to that area because of the traffic. There are plenty of new apartments that have opened in the past 12 months. If you like hiking, there's Government Canyon off Galm Road. If you like country music, there's Floores County Store in old town Helotes.

I would have said if you are working there you'll want to avoid the area because of traffic. To each his own.

Based on what you said I personally would say stick to the 1604/I-10 area over the Pearl/downtown area. Singles range from lots of young professionals all the way to Dominion divorcees. Nustar, USAA and Valero are all right there and there is a lot of construction of other businesses that are moving in. The Rim, La Cantera, and Elian have plenty of things to do. Easy access to hill country or downtown areas. Eisenhower Park and Leon Creek trail are right there and Salado Creek is about to get extended to connect to Leon Creek.

I've been living just south of the Pearl for over three years and love it. Easy access to the River Walk for walks or runs, new restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, lots of museums in the area. It's definitely pricey ($900/mo for my studio apartment), but if it's something fun you want to do for short term, I think it's completely worth it.

Oh, and I work near 1604 and Culebra as well. Your commute (35 > 90 > 151 > 1604) would pretty much be completely counter-flow. 30 minutes tops.
