I would recommend Azuca across the street for convenience. Hot Joy down the street has a better bar though.

Great choice on the dinner location... Chart House in the Tower of the Americas would be a something different with a view. It is a short walk through Hemisfair Park and across the street formerly known as Durango (aka Cesar Chavez) from La Frite.

I still can't make myself call it that.


What I really recommend is grabbing an Uber and going to the Esquire downtown.

Wonderful bar, great atmosphere. Shouldn't be more than a $4 ride.

Not sure what their clique is but we have been going there for years and never felt unwelcome. Had another great time there last night
