Do they grow well in SA?

I tried to do research thru A&M when the Mexican cado crisis happened and they where damn expensive

The Joey variety if I remember correctly was developed in uvalde. It is cold hardy for a few hours under freezing but should be good with frosts. I keep mine in a pot so I can move it. Seriously thinking about putting it in the ground this year.
