I currently have HughesNet at my country place in southern Bexar County and have had WildBlue in the past. AT&T DSL is available, but complete trash. HughesNet has an average ping above 1 sec and is pretty expensive for spotty connectivity and data limits.

Does anyone know of other broad band providers in that part of Bexar?

We just moved to SA from TN so I don't know if they are in your area but we have AT&T fiber optic. It is Lamborghini fast (1 GB). Streaming (GTV) is better, internet screens load in less than a second. Love it.

Look into GVEC or Commzoom, though we are further south in atascosa county.

Try fixed wireless...Its not terrible if you are near the tower.

Anyone have experience with Google Fiber? It is being installed in our neighborhood now. I'm using AT&T DSL currently.
