In SA for work this week and we needed some fast embroidery work done. Went to Sammy's embroidery and both time we were there I was solicited by Spanish speaking folks, no sure what they said.

At the northeast corner of that intersection there's some place with security and a lot of Hispanic people at the gates but no clear signage that I could see.

What is that place? Doesn't look like a homeless center.

Used to be an office for CPS Energy, the power company. One news story says they sold it to a developer who planned on repurposing it into rentable office space. Used to work in that area. That stretch of San Pedro is stuck in time and falling fast.

I don't know what it is but that ain't renatble office space.

Google maps says it is Aeropuerto San Antonio and calls it a hostel.

Yeah, using Google translate to learn that "Auerpuerto San Antonio" means "San Antonio Airport" was literally the last thing I had done before posting here.

Hostels don't need multiple police officers and "private property" signs at the gates.

Go drive by there. Y'all got something weird going on.

Wife works down the street. Showed her the article and she said the last couple of weeks now make sense. She was headed to Big Lots at lunch a while back but waived off when she saw the "locals" meandering about, and one dude just getting dressed/undressed at the storefront. I heard the gunvault open right before she left this morning.

There's no way the local businesses are okay with what I saw. They are in no way isolated to that facility. There were people wandering around everywhere, including crossing San Pedro like it was nothing.

It will absolutely drive casual customers away.

I know the vast majority of these folks are here looking for a better life, which I fully sympathize with. But let's be honest, this looks terrible when driving by on San Pedro. We are at a full blown crisis on unchecked immigration (trying to keep politics out of this) and the city chooses to put this facility smack dab on one of the busiest thoroughfares on the north side…. This is just another example of the city's incompetence and acquiescence to take control of a matter that is going to implode. Bad actors are going to take advantage just like they do every other situation like this.

They were dumping them at the airport, so they took over the Cps building and now dumping them there. They are "refugee's"
