Alamo Heights. Zip code ends in 09, and they're often referred to as 09ers.

Got it. We looked at some houses in 782"09". It's a great area but $400 a ft. Was little to steep.

Having my car broken into is meh. After living in Memphis my vehicles were broken into 6-7 times. My biggest irritant living here is the FUC*ING noise. If there is a sound ordinance it's not enforced at all. We are hopefully moving to Hollywood Park in August (put offer on a house yesterday). Here in Alamo Ranch, it sounds like a fuc*ing nascar event. And it's not just kids, it's grown adults hauling ass with a modified exhaust system. It's bullcrap is what it is.

BIG difference between those 2 areas. Hope you get the house.

Having lived in Hollywood Park, can confirm it is very quiet. Don't plan on getting into or out of the neighborhood in any hurry, though. That 20mph speed limit is strictly enforced.

Had an Excursion broken into near St. Mary's University. F-250 broken into at Stonewerks off Broadway. Have had friends trucks get broken into everywhere in San Antonio. Nowhere is safe.

First… the hill country is a meth infested sheethole. The obsession with it is odd and I grew up out there.

Second, SA is like any other city. Right now crime pays and the democrats want it that way.

Sounds like you grew up in Bandera or Lakehills

Quarry is a hot spot for break ins. Heck, most higher end retail places are. And Ford pickups are at the top of the list because they are so easy. If you have a lot of pro-2A stickers on your vehicle they hit you first because they think you leave your guns in the truck.

The only stickers I had on both were century club stickers. I always take my gun out of the truck and carry it on my person when in San Antonio, so there isn't a gun for them to steal.

I've never felt unsafe. and my f-150 has been safe, but i've probably jinxed it.

One comment that jumped out to me is about the Mexican Nationals.

When I worked at a furniture store in town while I was in college, we delivered high end stuff to mexican nationals all the time and I found them to be much more friendly than the average wealthy caucasian and they were much better tippers.

Didn't know the Quarry MP was bad for break ins as my office is right across Basse Rd. Been working there five years now so I guess it's just a matter of when not if my F250 gets hit.

Jimmy Jammers on all the doors, also do the Jimmy Jammer Tailgate Lock, and Jimmy Jammer Hood Latch Guard. Then install Revelco Anti Theft Kill Switch.

I've got all these things on my Ford F-250 and it's about the only things you can do from not having your truck stolen.

Had a friend get a truck stolen. Believe it was a Silverado.

Had 2 friends get their catalytic converters stolen. One of them had it stolen twice in the parking lot at UTSA.

Have heard some crazy things about happenings at the Rim. Trafficking, drugs, cartel business. And a lot of it is based out of the Dominion. Of course it's probably all just silly rumors.

There was "the Hit" a couple of years ago around 11 am at the Rim on a Saturday. 25 or so year old gentleman in his Porsche with his son, King, in the backseat. Killed the guy with zero injuries to the kid. Not only was it a hit, it was a high quality one. Sad but it is a fact.

So...do you just live your life assuming that democrats indefinitely support the things you hate?

Lots of information in this article from the SAPD, but from 2021 to 2022 there was an increase in homicides by 70. Take out the 54 for human trafficking and it's still an increase of 16. 5% increase in crimes like unlawful possession, drugs/narcotics, etc. 14% increase in crimes against property with a 215% increase in stolen property. This is just what's reported. Stolen vehicles are so commonplace in San Antonio that they are rarely investigated.

I'm not going to blame the Democrats since our council doesn't "have official parties." However, if you look at the leadership and the way they lean, things haven't gotten better since they've been in charge. I'm thankful for small miracles, and that Prop A didn't get passed.
