We live in San Antonio. Our 7 year old Keeshond needs fairly major surgery called tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). We were told it would cost $5k per knee and she needs both knees fixed. I never thought I'd spend this much money on a dog but she is definitely part of the family and we're going to do the right thing for her. She has an excellent pedigree, very healthy otherwise. No issues no hip dysplasia etc. Fix the knee issues and she should make the 17 year mark.
Sorry for the protracted story, she's part of the family;

So all of that to ask does anyone know a good vet that performs this type surgery? We lie in San Antonio, but I don't care if the vet is in East Texas, I'll make the drive. Should I call A&M Vet school to see if they offer a discount as part of a teaching exercise?

Thanks for any advice.
