I'm hoping someone here can make a recommendation on fine dining restaurants with good wine for a business dinner in Corpus or Port Aransas? I have out-of-state customers coming next week for an equipment dinner and need recommendations. Unfortunately, Trip Advisor doesn't seem to list any consistently good places. And I, a native Texan, have never been to either town!

Steak house is prefered but open to other suggestions.

Thank you,

For Port A, take a look at Tortuga's.
We had a nice dinner there last year.

If your in Corpus, The Republic hands down. Great ambiance as you get a view of the bay from the top of the Omni:

In Port A you can do the Venetian Hot Plate, usually pretty spot on and plenty of wine choices.

And no steak houses in Port A that would be consistent that I know of, never remember ordering steak down there after all these years.

Venitian Hot Plate, Tortugas or Black Marlin in Port A. All need reservations during the summer.

Thanks all - Very helpful suggestions.

I am concerned about the recent reviews of the Republic of Texas; some pretty lousy experiences. I'm going to look at these other suggestions.

I neglected to mention that I see these folks regularly for dinner in DC so a little less formal might be ok.

Don't think you can find much in Corpus or Port A that is formal unless you consider closed toed shoes and not cut offs formal.

I can't thank you all enough. Made it to Corpus today for the first time in my life. Interesting place and I'll be coming back trying these restaurants.

Have reservations at the Republic for tomorrow night. Looking forward to trying these recommendations and going to Portland and Port A….

How was the Republic? Hopefully it went well. I used to love that place. I didn't realize some of the more recent reviews were mixed. It is the only steak place I can remember from my time there.

If you are still there, some of my other favorites that haven't been mentioned, but not necessarily for a business meeting: B&Js Pizza (hand tossed pies), Irie's in Port A (americana), and for seafood Black Diamond oyster bar.
