I just came back from five days in San Antonio. Great trip as always.

I still see Cesar Chavez Blvd signs on the freeway. The name hasn't been changed back to Durango yet.

According to a Yahoo News and KENS5 report: ....

City survey finds majority of San Antonio residents want Cesar Chavez Boulevard changed back to Durango

Will take a few weeks to go through the process, officially has to be done by City Council.

IMO our city council is the functional equivalent of a PTA for Romper Room. I expect them to rename the road the Tony Gonzales Blvd.

Quite frankly I am surprised they paid attention to the token survey that was sent out. This isn't a done deal yet, though. They might still name it Lila Cockrell Blvd for all we know.

They gotta wait for all of the decades old fines to be collected before they can afford it.

You think the wheels of government are going to make the change within 2-3 weeks? If so, I admire your optimism.

FWIW, price tag on the name change is around $200k.

Pisses me off. Just leave the racist, socialist, woman-abuser's name on it for everyone to remember that politicians are pure scum.
