I need to get some dental work done, but I've only got a short time window to get it done in, and I was hoping to talk to someone who works in the clinic to see if it would be possible and if there's anything I need to do ahead of time to facilitate it.

I'm assuming your active duty. I just left in November and back then you just needed to use sick call hours and go to your primary dental office. Explain your timeframe and they should be able to work with you by either doing it themselves or sending you off post to have it done.

Were you a dentist? Basically I'm Navy HPSP. During my last active duty cycle the Navy dentist told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but I didn't have time to do it then. So now my next ADT is coming up and I'd like to get it done, but between board exams and school I've got a very tight window. So I was curious what would be the most efficient way to get it done/transfer records from the Navy/etc. Or can I just walk in on my first day of active duty and go from there?

Not a dentist. Just a Field Artillery O-3 that was blessed (haha) to spend about 8 years there. In your case, I'm not sure what the best way to go would be. I would say to wait until your first day and as part of your inprocessing they should be able to pull your previous records over from the Navy, but that is getting into areas I know little to nothing about. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Post dental has a large backlog. If you are in a hurry I second Aggie12Bs recomendation. No idea how that works with the navy, but Army I always just explained my time frame & if they could not get me on post I could occasionally get an off post referral.
