Several months ago, I walked into the Black Rifle Coffee Company store that I stop at every day and noticed that everyone was wearing the same salmon-colored shirt. I kind of jokingly asked the guy who serves me coffee on most days, a retired Army E-8, whether that was the uniform of the day. He explained to me that everyone wore red on Fridays because it was RED Friday -- Remember Everyone Deployed.

I know a couple of guys -- an Army E-3 in Germany and an Army National Guard E-6 who's away from his new wife a lot -- and I thought it was a good idea anyway, so I found a shirt online that I liked and now wear every Friday.

I thought I'd post here and see if I could get a little more support for our deployed service members. Wear a red shirt on Fridays to Remember Everyone Deployed.

I started in Helicopters, Armor, then took over a Finance Unit. I told them my vision was to give "World Class" support to the soldiers and community of Ft Riley. Treat every soldier like a hero, because some would not come back after deployments. The soldiers understood that, and they met my vision in a few months.

I am really glad that the Afghanistan and Iraq wars have been turned off.

We all have red polo shirts for Fridays, have been wearing them for years. I work for a DOD contractor where the majority of our employees are veterans.

This again…dude, seriously, this bragging about your vision is not what professional officers do. I'm glad you care about your troops, but it's possible this comes off as self serving to those that know you.
