Have had a couple different Manhattan Project brews this weekend while in Dallas. They've all been very good! Would be my go to if I still lived around here I bet.

Yorkshire Stingo barrel aged strong ale from Samuel Smith. Shared this one yesterday afternoon with one of my beer buddies (and stole his Untappd pic). It's been a few years since I have had this one. I remember it to be malty and delicious. This years version is very acetic and thin. Think Duchesse on steroids acetic... My beer buddy said he liked it even though I could tell he didn't lol. I think he didn't want to hurt my feelings since I talked it up so much before we opened it. Anyway I would steer clear.

Went to lunch today at the local pub and told my buddy who owns the place about the Yorkshire Stingo. The distributor rep came in after we left and he mentioned it to her. Apparently it's a known issue and they are pulling that batch out of stores. She said I could get a replacement bottle from World Market or from her if they refuse. I guess all's well that ends well.

yeh a barrel aged strong ale should not be acetic (or acidic for that matter.. wasn't sure if you typo'd that
sour = acidic.)
should be strong oaky malty goodness.
All this for $35?? What is it 2005?

Acetic… vinegar. Good in small amounts like in Duchesse de Bourgogne. Terrible in large amounts. The beer was definitely infected.

In DC area this week for work and stumbled upon a brewery called adroit theory. Pretty decent stuff.
Finally got my Pumpkinator in for this year. More pumpkin pie spice than I remember but the roasted malt comes through in the end. Also if anyone is following along with the Yorkshire Stingo saga. I contacted the distributor rep and she is sending me a bottle.

A Festivus miracle. We sadly missed the first two emilio drops. They had a final drop today at all locations.
These are Green Cheek collabs. Our fellow untapper's give Southern Hemisphere Emilio 4.75 and Emilio scores a 4.5.
Both Emilio beers are also on tap today at the Pinthouse Brewery.
Stopped in to try this new Cajun joint, got this abita with it. Pretty tasty.
Finally got my hands on the Belgian tripel at KinderHill in Bryan! Nice and sneaky high ABV just like I like my tripels.

I've been sampling Ole Stock Ale from North Coast for a good bit of the last 25-30 years…probably my favorite all time accessible go-to. Their others are ok but Old Stock is a true american micro standard.
