Man, I know after something happens twice it becomes a tradition, but I hope this one dies. At least Chicken Oil came back.

It burned down back in March and they decided to not rebuild. It was a total loss.

Does every good restaurant in CS burn down?

You a big Shipley's fan too?

I think we are going to swing over to Wildflyer Meadery and Brewery in Navasota tomorrow for lunch. I had their Helles with lunch today at my local pub and it was really good. We have reservations at Primrose Path for supper. Thursday lunch is still open.

The original Wild Flyer location a few miles south of Navasota is just down the road from a great winery, Threshold Vineyards. But Threshold is only open on weekends.

Did a local Shipley's catch fire?

Krispy Kreme was burned down, but don't recall a Shipley's.

That's right. But Krispy Kreme is overrated. And it was arson.

Been to both Wild Flyer locations and they are very cool spots to have, especially for Navasota.

The original location is on the farm and it nice for a fall or spring afternoon hang. The one in downtown Navasota has a better menu and some really good food. And, surprisingly, their beer is actually quite good. I'm a fan.

Downtown Nav in general has really been spruced up. Can easily spend an afternoon/evening there if you're a foodie/boozie

Nice. I'll have to look for their beers. Tbh, I didn't know they had started brewing beer until yesterday.

Haha. Been there before. Another good tip is to not TexAgs while drunk. Especially after a bad loss.

Went to Wildflyer for lunch today but first decided to run my old ranch truck through the car wash. Car wash took a dump into my bed and delayed our departure by about 45 minutes. Not sure how but it didn't even scratch my paint. At Wildflyer I had their Junky Star Hazy with my giant club sandwich. Also had the Pilsner Navasota and Looks Good in Neon West Coast style IPA in a flight. All beers were pretty good. We had two meads in the flight. La Chona grapefruit and lime and Hot and Bothered jalapeño and lemon. Both good as well. After doing some beer shopping we went to Chubby's to wait until our room was ready. I had Tupps Juice Pack which I typically like but something was wrong with it. Really old keg or dirty lines or something. I finished mine but Wifey couldn't. Cheers

We've been to Wildflyer several times. Their beers are solid…a small notch below beers like Yellow Rose, Art Car, Jai Alai, etc. My wife likes their lower alcohol meads, which are lighter and carbonated when compared to well known meads like Schramms.

I've heard good things about Chubby's House but never been.

They're a mom and pop joint and super friendly. It's been on a weekly rotation at work for quite some time now.

We'll be up there Saturday, sounds like we may need to check this place out

Haven't had the 3x juicy bits until tonight for the semi fball game. It's tasty, but I think 2x bits is my preference of the two. NColorado take notice, jk.

Today's Friday share beers. The Zy.Tho.Phile from Lone Pint was surprisingly bitter but very good. All Chinook hops if you are a fan like me. The Looks Good in Neon from Wildflyer was good and actually better in my opinion than when I had it on draft at the source a couple days ago. The King Sue I think is fairly well known on this thread and was very good as expected. It was canned about a month ago. The Saison Dupont wasn't really a share beer, I just bought a bottle for my own self but did share it around. Pretty sure everyone here is familiar with it. The winner of the day of the share beers (4 out of 5 drinkers) was the Evel Knievel from Destihl. Well balanced and very drinkable for a double West Coast IPA. Cheers
ETA: Sorry about the out of focus pic. The camera focused on the bartender. At least she is cute.
