The other half was my favorite, but the highland park was really good too.
This is quite tasty.
Hit 60 here today so wasn't really feeling the stouts so I went with this tonight. Maybe I'll break out the stouts again when it cools off come Monday.

Looking for recs for some good beer. Belgians, sours, malty and/or more unique options preferred.. not just 8 different ipas. Don't mind ubering a handful of miles but probably don't want to stray too far.
Probably gonna eat too, so some sort of food option preferred.
Also a decent bottle shop in the area for some hotel beers.
Damn delicious.

Monkish usually has a couple non IPAs on and Select beer store down in redondo was one of my hangouts when I lived out there. Both might be too far south for you. Right around LAX I'd offer el segundo although probably won't find much sour or Belgian stuff there.
Also a dive bar called Naja's near the Redondo pier right on the water will often have good stuff in a setting you definitely wouldn't expect.
Low Visibility Hazy IPA from Symbol Brewery. Pretty damn juicy.

I'm not a beer drinker, but have been getting these goose island beers for my brother in law for Christmas the last couple of years. I picked up this one tonight (I didn't realize the price, ouch), but is it really worth the price?
Local beer shop got some Cantillon in. Fantastic as always
That's a new variant this year, I think. How much was it? I'm guessing around $30.
Can't answer for that one but I stumbled upon a bottle of the vanilla rye last night for $25
I was told it was $24 (there wasn't a price sticker), my wife looked at the receipt and it ended up being $40. I don't mind since it's a gift, but I'm hoping it's a good beer. I usually get him the standard version and then a couple of the new offerings from goose island. But the other options didn't sound too good this year.
Had to have a Zombie Dust while in Indiana. It was at the airport but it hit the spot

Blanco has Real Ale and Texas Cannon. A bit south there is Star Republic. A bit north in Johnson City there is Pecan Street and Reck Em. You can meander a further east for several more options.
Brewing a brett saison, drinking Cherry Meertz from Funk Factory which is quite nice and light on a warm December day.

Ya, Real Ale was the reason we were considering Blanco. Brad Farbstein the owner came to my house for an afternoon of brewing a few years ago. We were thinking about trying to hook back up with him.
Like anywhere in Texas? I'd go to Austin. You could hit 10-15 fantastic breweries in a weekend. Jester King has cabins basically on site. You could stay there, do the the breweries around JK, and then go into Austin as needed.swampstander said:

The stout selection in B/CS is terrible. Towerpoint HEB is the only place with a decent selection (and it's hit or miss).

Here in the wastelands, Total Wine in CS shows Double Oaked KBS in stock, which gets great reviews.
