Been a while…life has gotten in the way of my bourbon hunting.
Found some time today though and grabbed a Frey Ranch Single Barrel (first one I've had) as well as the trusted Old Forester 1920. Also bought a Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat as a gift for a neighbor. Total Wine has some Garrison Brothers Lady Bird locked up in the back if anyone wants to stretch their wallet a bit.
Finishing off the first pour of the Frey Ranch, and it is outstanding. I'm such a big fan of their products.
Oh, and I had sample off the Still Austin Cask Strength Rye today. Very good to my elementary rye palate.

I typically enjoy higher proofs, but the Still Austin BiB is even better! Highly recommend picking one up before they are gone
Still Austin gets crapped on a lot around here, and it's understandable, to an extent. But they are easily making the best whiskey in Texas, and that cask strength rye is very good. Not many 100% ryes around and even less that have such bright fruity notes that I personally really enjoy.
Had a Penelope Valencia pour tonight. Really enjoyed it, was an easy drink - low proof and relatively sweet but still tasty.
I'll vote for the cackler before I buy still Austin
Visiting Austin this weekend and stopped by the legendary Oak Liquor Cabinet. Neat little store and friendly owner! Proud of all his barrel picks and happy with Texags support!

Sisterdale is a little pricey but good stuff imo.
