That's a fantastic bottle. I've been hunting for one since having a sample. It's a great buy under $60 but I just passed on one that was $89.

Yes, by quite a bit. Like I said, I wasn't too thrilled with what I paid. I indexed on it though because I'd never seen one in the area. I'm sure I could have waited until I was in Houston this weekend for high school games to find it at a way better price

I've only had it once, and it was a sample someone sent to the office. I loved it. Stood out for me over other samples like Blanton's Straight from the Barrel, Peerless Double Oaked, and an EH Taylor Single Barrel.
May your luck be better than mine then! It's the curse of single barrels - some are incredible, some are meh

A local spot near me has EHT SmB for 200, but GTS 23 and Pappy 10 for a cool $999. Handys are "only" 799.

Of state controlled, Virginia is as least bad as it gets. They deliver and upload the list to a state site each morning. Ohio is tracked online too.
I guess it depends how you define rare as well. The two states I referenced had things in the Weller line & the like. Not Pappy, BTAC levels.

Virginia was good, they recent went back to the old drop system that everyone hated. Now where they do excel at is a store in a pudunk town, or in the hood will get just as much allocated stuff as one in Fairfax or Virginia Beach.
As far as BTAC goes i got extremely lucky in the lottery and won 5 bottles in the four years i lived there.
