While in Louisville, I discovered 2 things:
1 - The bars are really stocked with amazing products.
2 - the liquor stores have fewer good bottles than most in Texas

Agree with #2, but some of the liquor stores (Evergreen, Liquor Barn, etc) have in-store bars and offer exceptional pours at reasonable prices.
The restaurants have great selection too.

This. Evergreen's selection in Bardstown is exceptional.
I actually like Special Reserve. I think it's seen as nothing special around here because it's fairly easy to find.

I went to one Evergreen. Good selection, but only a few store picks that were worth buying. Still, I skipped them, because it would take some special bottles for me to check my bag, which I hate doing.

I meant the bar selection. Every unicorn I'd ever want to try was there for reasonable prices. The store itself was OK

Our pick, duh
Just finished a Garrison Bros tasting at Specs in Dallas. Very good little event. Tasted small batch, single barrel, honeydew and Balmorhea. Cool part was Dan and Nancy Garrison ran the class. Both are pretty good characters.
Told Dan about our TexAgs barrels and he acted like he knew about that happening. He said they have tickets for the Aggie - tu game.
