Happy Friday, folks. Checking out this new pick up from Everest Liquor in Austin this week. Found for $69.99.

Early impressions:

Big oak up front, lighter vanilla/cherry coke mid palate. Long simmering finish, much like C923 but not quite as complex. Drinks below 130 proof.

Can't wait to see how this opens up. Feels like a winner.

Tejas Liquor #11 on 1464 advertised ER 10 for $49.99. But when you try and buy a bottle, they tell you that price is good only if you buy three other bottles of expensive "stuff". If you don't buy the three other bottles, the price is $149.

Caveat emptor.

I picked up a Penelope Creme Brulee and a Copper and Cask Cigar Blend. Looking forward to cracking those 2.

Random as far as I know. We went there a couple different days and they were still bringing stuff out during the day. Didn't seem necessary to be there in line when they open, but I expect earlier is typically better.

Wow, awesome snag.

Every time I've gone (3x) it's been a rotation between Eagle Rare 10yr, Blanton's, EHT SmB, or Weller SR.

Never seen any BTAC hanging around. Gives me hope when I'm there in September.

Appreciate it! The owner of a local liquor store told me that he does not know of a single time they have ever dropped an ER17 since he's been in the business (2009). My dad, grandpa, fianc, and brother-in-law all bought one today. Might wait to open mine the night before my wedding, but for sure won't sell it. That Buffalo Trace distillery and tour is fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in bourbon and history.

At a Dallas Spec's and just came across what everyone else on this thread is seeing. EHT SmB at retail prices is a lot easier to find which is great. It is one of my absolute favorites, and tough to beat at $53.
