My wife has a crush on Paul Hollywood, so when I saw this on the shelf at B&N I picked it up and leafed through it. I have to say, I'm really impressed. Most of the recipes are stupid simple, it just focuses on the fundamentals of doing things WELL.

How to Bake: Hollywood, Paul: 9781408819494: Amazon.com: Books

One thing of note, all measurements are metric, but my wife has a BS in Chemistry so it's not an issue.

I prefer Mary Berry

He is a great baker, but something about him is off putting to me

I will say his lemon and orange bread is a fabulous

Your wife is lucky to have someone that thoughtful

Good job!

Most of the good baking books are going to have measurements in weights and not the standard cups/teaspoons, even from American bakers. If I baked more breads, he would be one of my go tos for recipes.
