I think I read awhile back that mint julep are good if made well in advance and stored chilled.

1. Is this true, or did I fabricate it
2. Anyone have a good recipe for making at scale?

I haven't heard that before. I thought drinks with mint were best prepared fresh and served immediately.

I don't know about making to scale, but this is a solid recipe. The addition of angostura bitters is something to consider if you haven't tried it before.

I feel like making them beforehand isn't bad as long as you garnish with fresh mint by the straw. Half of the flavor of the julep comes from a whiff the big sprig (lol) as you take a drink.

One of my friends in HS lived on the golf course at Champions CC. Fancy house, high end wet bar. He had a bottle of jack daniels with a tube of toothpaste duct taped to it in the back of the top shelf. Red neck mint juleps... a squeeze of crest and a shot of jack.
