So I know it's not commercial kitchen quality, and even though this isn't the Outdoors Board, I'll probably still get some recommendations for thousand-dollar sets...

But maybe a few of you could comment specifically on this set and why it looks good to you or why i might want to avoid it? The thing I like about it versus most of "the competition" in that price range that Amazon suggests is that it's rated oven-safe up to 500*F. I sometimes make artisan bread at very high temps that a lot of pots/dutch ovens aren't rated for (e.g. 475*F)

I have no problem spending twice or 3 times as much, if the additional cost actually gains me something. Non-stick is a must. TIA

Do you really need that much non stick? I don't see the need for more than one pan. I buy a cheap one and get new every 3ish years. Nonstick isn't where I'd invest. I'm sure these will all work, but I'd go without non stick for most of those as you'll be replacing them.

^This. No matter how much you spend on a non-stick set, it WILL eventually break down and you will need to replace it.

I would be very wary of pans that are this inexpensive and being marketed by a "celebrity". They are probably very poor quality. I've seen a similar set from a different "celebrity" that started having the finish on the edges start flaking off within a couple of weeks of use.

I personally would never heat a nonstick pan that high. At 570 they start to release toxic chemicals and if you get it to 500 you had better keep an eye on it.

With that said, I have pretty much cut nonstick out of my kitchen completely.

"Commercial Kitchen Quality" is found at Ace Mart and is inexpensive.

I am typically useless when it comes to cooking but we don't own a whole set. A couple of 8" cuz you are lazy with the dishwasher and maybe a 10" and good to go.

All of this. Get an 8" and 10" skillet and you are set. No matter how well you take care it, it will have to eventually be replaced. Plus, it's easier to replace a $25 pan and not feel guilty about it.

I bought the largest blue handle non stick that Ace Mart sells for our family of four, my wife thought it was way too big, but it has served the needs of every non-stick application we've needed and it's the only non-stick skillet we have. Great purchase and is just as good as the day we bought it two years ago.

It's tough to find one of the 12 or 14" ace mart skillet that is flat. They tend to be a little warped.

I bought a cheap non-stick pan at WalMart about four years ago and it is still as non-stick as when new.

I strictly use it only for eggs. Not long ago, I ran out of butter one night and fried eggs without using butter or any other oil in the pan and didn't have any sticking at all.
