Pro's / Con's

Trying to get organized and thought I would get some opinions.
Ideally it would show ratings as well as current retail price..

Thanks in advance!

I toyed around with Cellartracker in the past. It was ok, but never tried anything else so I don't know how it compares.

CellarTracker. Once you get over a current quantity you have to make a donation, but before then it's free. I input value when I buy my wine, it does have a value based on everyone's bottles, but don't know how accurate it is. It also has ratings, but I don't pay attention to them at all so no idea how good they are.

I mainly just use it to track what I have and where it's stored by location and shelf. Also save some notes so I can go back and reference who I had bottles with, what I enjoyed, who gifted me bottles, etc. I also use the drinking windows, but more so as a guide to do more research on my longer aging bottles.

Delectable. Works for me and the photo scan of the wine label works well.

Once upon a time I set up an Excel VBA program that tracked inventory and allowed you to add more wine when you ran the program. Was pretty neat, but only as good as the person using it. You can't add stuff physically then forget to add it in the program, that made tracking later on a pain.

But, I am sure that is an issue with any of the actual paid programs as well.

Women and girly-men drink wine.

Men drink whiskey.

I do the same with CellarTracker, and become sad when I go to open a wine and realize it isn't there because I already drank it and forgot to take it out of CellarTracker.

I use a Google spreadsheet - so I can access it from anywhere and any device.

yeah, same, but sometimes it is cool to open up a box in my storage and find a wine I never put into CellarTracker.... score!

Also programmed my own way back, but use CellarTracker now.

I only use it for wines that I'm cellaring - tracking daily drinkers became a hassle. Multiple bottles on the counter above the trash can and my wife asking "did you enter these yet?". I find the ratings useful in context that they are user ratings.

App on my phone works well, also.

Cellartracker Classic. I never liked the new version.

I basically ran a CellarTracker report/restaurant style wine list based on location (home wine fridge). Wines are organized by variety in the report and have value, estimated drinking window, and location (which shelf). You can add or remove info, filters, etc.

The report opened in a safari window and I keep that window open on my phone. When we want to drink a bottle I just open that safari window/tab. I still use the CellarTracker app to add and remove wines and it auto refreshes my wine list web page. Screen shot of what I'm talking about below.
