The wife and I are likely heading to NYC in September. We are staying for about 4-5 days. She is obsessed with pizza and we are looking for any recommendations on best pizza joints to check out.

We are planning on Lucali's for dinner one night.

Thanks in advance!

My favorite is Joe's. I think the OG is the one on Carmine street but they're all good.

Another highly recommended spot is Johns of Bleecker Street.

Lucali is great but doesn't take reservations so is a bit of a pain to eat at. Gotta be there by 4 to put your name on the list, service starts at 5, and I don't think they call you so someone in your party has to stay and wait (I think).

Just got back from NYC yesterday and pizza was a huge part of the trip. I highly recommend Portnoys one bite app and research that there especially when you're in the city and seeing what's near you.

Since we hopped around the city we basically just researched what was near us at the time and did it that way. Going into it I had a list of where I wanted to go but quickly realized with traffic and the hassle it wasn't really feasible because we had certain things planned throughout our trip.

Here are the ones we hit.

Angelo's Coal Oven Pizza- excellent. And the vodka pasta we got there was also the best pasta dish we had on our trip.

Prince St- spicy square was good, but the regular cheese slice was even better

Artichokes- very good also. Down by Chelsea pier

Ray's.-yes the chain, yes it sucked, but for nostalgic reasons (movie Elf) I wanted a slice. Lol

Zeste- down by WTC/wall st. Authentic Neapolitan style. DAMN GOOD flavor and quality ingredients. Excellent desert pizzas as well.

Happy hunting.

We tried a random place in little Italy because everywhere else was busy and this place was quick, they put sliced garlic on theirs and it was great. Maneros I think.

Marta's wine program was developed by a C-start native. It's nostalgia, but it's NYC pizza for me. That and whatever's open at 2am.

After watching the pizza show by munchies on YouTube I'd like to try Frank's place, "Best Pizza"
