The other thread got me thinking since Halloween is just around the corner. What were the candies as a kid, or the ones your kids receive now that were a disappointment to receive? The ones that go straight into the garbage.

-Candy Corn (including the pumpkin ones)
-Sweet Tarts/Smarties
-Any kind of licorice
-Gummies (especially Swedish Fish)
-Banana Laffy Taffy
-Hot Tamales
-Now & Later (took a Starburst and turned it into rock)
-Tootsie Rolls
-Nerds
-Dots
-Runts
-Whatever those orange and black wrapped candies are
-Raisins

Candy corn
Smarties
Least favorite chocolate candy: baby Ruth (always thought it was spare)

Nerds & large chewy sweet tarts are great.

Laffy Taffy, Good n Plenty or any of those generic hard candies in unnamed packaging. Pay Day for candy bars.

3) Licorice jelly beans
4) Almond Joys

I feel like that list basically summarizes most homes' Halloween candy. What DO you like?

Hard candy that came from the Lions Club bag that most of the neighbors bought.

My personal hell would be no sweets other than candy corn or peeps.

I don't like any kind of taffy type candy, so Laffy Taffy, Airheads, Starburst or any thing similar went to the trash.

That's all.

The only candy listed on this thread that I won't eat by the fistful is Almond Joys. Coconut candy is nasty.

I love ****ty candy (except coconut candy)

I like candy corn.

The secret to peeps is to open the package and thenet them sit in your fridge for a few weeks. They need to be the right level of stale. long enough and they turn into giant lucky charms marshmallows.

I hate candy corn

Candy corn is only good for making butterfingers. (3 ingredients)

• 18 ounce bag candy corn (about 3 cups)
1 cups creamy peanut butter (don't use natural peanut butter)12 ounces milk chocolate

• Line a 9x9 or a 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper or foil and spray with cooking spray. You can use a different size pan, it will just change the thickness of your butterfingers.
• Place your candy corn in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave in 20 second increments, stirring in between. Keep doing this until the candy corn is completely melted and smooth.
• Add your peanut butter into the melted candy corn and microwave for 20-30 seconds. Stir the peanut butter and candy corn together until completely smooth. Take your mixture and press it into your lined pan. Press it into an even smooth even layer across your pan.
• Chill your butterfingers until they are no longer hot. Cut them into 1x2 inch rectangles.They are easiest to cut if they are not frozen. Once cut, chill in the freezer for 1 hour.
• Melt your milk chocolate in 20 second increments in the microwave until smooth. Take your butterfingers and coat them in milk chocolate and place on a sheet of parchment paper or on a cooling rack. Chill until solid.

I see so few people actually admit they love candy corn (I can take it or leave it) that there has so be some kind of conspiracy because that stuff is ubiquitous. If so few like it then why do they produce so much of it?
