We started a tradition when my wife's Irish grandfather was still alive to have boiled corned beef, potatoes, and cabbage on St Patrick's Day.

This is probably about 15 yrs in a row for us. Anybody else do this?

My parents have been making this St. Patrick's day meal as long as I can remember. Soda bread as well. If we are in town, we always join them.

We made ours on Saturday. Catholic so we don't eat meat on Friday. Corned beef boiled to get some of the salt out then smoked it to temp. Also had cabbage, homemade pintos and potatoes. All turned out damn good. On a side note we aren't Irish, but drank a lot of beer.
