Heading to Vegas for the game and looking for a recommendation for a good hole-in-the-wall Italian Restaurant. I'm thinking old school feel, dark atmosphere, authentic. Location is not a big deal…but close to the strip is preferable.

Try Battista's Hole in the Wall. Just off the Strip. I think it fits your bill. Also if you go on the Travel Forum they might help as well

As mentioned Battista's Hole in the Wall. Others that also were known Mob hangouts back in the day are Piero's, Capo's & Chicago Joe's.

Ferraro's. Might have the the Barolo and Barbaresco wine list in the country, if that's your thing.

Cipriani - Wynn. Upscale, very good.
Bootlegger - off Strip, old Vegas local hangout
Carmine's - Caesar's, family style, best lasagna I've had out there.

but when youre ready to get fancy, Carbones at Aria has the best $91 veal parmesan I've ever had.

Herbs and Rye - not to0 Italian but a great Happy hour half price steak, the bar and tenders will blow you away, and the ask for the risotto. Thank me later

I've eaten at Chicago Joe's twice, both were excellent.

If you're willing to go off away from the Strip, North Italia off South Rampart is fantastic.

I've heard people rave about Battista's.

If you go downtown to Fremont, hit up Evel Pizza. Avoid Pizza Rock, and go to Evel instead.

Second edit: There is also a speakeasy in the basement of the Mob Museum downtown, they have a distillery. If you want to see a little bit of history and throw back a drink or two, go there.
