I've seen lots of recommendations for bourbons tours in Kentucky but decided to go to Nashville instead. Anybody done bourbon tours in or around Nashville and have any recommendations. We are going in November.

Was in Nashville a few weeks ago. We visited Nelson's Greenbriar. Walking distance from The Gulch. They have a good restaurant, the tour is award winning, and the fill your own bottle experience can be great depending on what is available. If you can make it down to Franklin, Lieper's Fork would be worth visiting. I'm a big fan of their products, including their BiB bourbon. Also, Peg Leg Porker is a BBQ spot and small local craft NDP in Nashville. Their expressions are pretty tasty, and they have a tasting room. Report back about what you decide to do and any of your experiences!

Was up there last year, this is what I shared in the main bourbon thread. One thing I wish I had time for was Nashville Barrel Co.

Nashville Arrived Saturday late afternoon, suffered through the SC game at a bar that evening and then called it a night. Sunday toured the Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery. Did a whiskey experience (all Belle Meade label juice) and wine tasting, nice way to kill some time and get some history. Initially I thought this was an old plantation but turns out its fame was from thoroughbred horses and being a stud farm. Proceeded to Nelson Bros. Green Briar Distillery, and they have upgraded big time since last here in 2020. Had the tour, did a flight and grabbed a Honey Cask and a BiB. Walked down to Corsair Distillery and did the same, walked away with two of their ASM's, a regular and one called Triple Smoke (think Islay scotch, of which I am a huge fan). Monday, after a nice pulled pork sandwich from Peg Leg Porker before leaving town, I asked the bartender where to purchase some of their Tennessee whiskey and she directed me to Frugal MacDoogal's around the corner so off we went before heading to Lynchburg. Got a Peg Leg Porker 4 yr, 8 yr, and a Rare Character KY Straight Bourbon 8 yr 9 month single barrel store pick. Bummed no 12-year Peg Leg Porker but was still pleased with what I did find.

Big Machine Distillery is south of Nashville. We stopped there on our way to Kentucky and had a great time, tour and tasting. Small place, but they are growing. I did a bottle-your-own hazmat bourbon.

We did Nelson's GreenBriar. They have changed ownership and updated the tour. The tour itself isnt ground breaking. Lots of Nashville history more than anything. We did the bottle-your-own and got a cool madeiera finished cask, I believe for a bit extra. Where this tour shines was the bar area, cocktails and the restaurant. They do a frozen "cold fashioned" and have other bourbons not on the tour. I liked the "bottled in bond" they have. They also had an Amaro (like fernet branca) that was discontinued. But you should definitely try it if you like it.

We took the trip to Belle Meade which isnt a distillery per se, as much as an old plantation but they do have a bourbon that they make and a tasting area with wine and their whiskey. It wasn't anything special. YMMV.

I must ask that you absolutely make a trip to Attaboy for cocktails while in Nashville. Small room, speakeasy style. Limited access entry, fantastic bartenders and drinks. Cool place.

if you can't get your hands on the secret password to Attaboy, just head-over to The Red Phone Booth..........it's another speakeasy that's very cool......no secret password required.......
