I click on the "Private Message this user..." button in MyBCS (any user) and it redirects me back to the TexAgs main page, almost as if I've been banned for it. I'm kinda worried that it may be the case as I was banned for about a year, came back in, but accidentally had my posting suspended in the middle of an en masse ban (which was later restored).

sorry, i should have noticed this from the beginning... private messaging is currently only available to basic level subscribers and above. I'll work on providing an error message that states such rather than just dumping you on the homepage.
