I love Texags. However, I get really frustrated with how user un-friendly the forum is. I get a completely different format and experience on my PC, tablet, and smart phone. A user having to add html tags is outdated; however, this forum doesn't even have quick tags with clickable icons!
Half of the users have no idea how to post a simple link because they're not used to typing url tags.

Uploading a picture is a nightmare because it has to be hosted somewhere instead of a quick upload option like facebook or instagram has.

I could go on and on and on about the technical quality of the forum but I digress. I would suggest shutting the forums down for a few days and completely rebuilding them to something that's not 10 years outdated.

Instead of having a "like" icon for a thread, users post pages and pages and pages of blank replies with a thumbs up emoji. Super annoying!

I'm not venting to be a *****, I love Texags. However, the user experience on the forums is really bad and needs to be upgraded in order to keep you customers happy.

Please keep it challenging to discourage unnecessary posting.

Chrome and Firefox have add ons for the quick tags. Even hide users and highlight certain things.

And your experience is different on you smartphone because there is a mobile site.

I get the pictures thing. But TexAgs hosting them opens them up to copyright issues. That and the stupids in the zoo and GB would post lots of porn and TexAgs isn't the type of company to want that on their server.

TexAgs is one of the best school/recruiting forums out there. I like the clean, simple interface and while I agree that there should be buttons to add the link/image/quote etc tags, I can download extensions to solve that.

As for uploading images, TexAgs shouldn't have to pay for extra server space so you can upload a picture of what you ate last night. That's what the picture sites like imgur and photobucket are for. They even have apps that make it easy to upload from your phone.

Whatever you do, don't allow user icons...

This. it's bad enough the people that post their signature on every single thing they post.

I agree with some of those points like default LINK, QUOTE tags etc. It's dumb to have an extension to do that. Also, to go along with a TEXAGS quote button, it would be nice if it said WHO said the quote so you don't have to scroll up and search for it...

I'm pretty sure on mobile the url tags aren't required, it will auto hotlink for you.

That's great and all but we don't all use the mobile version. Notice I didn't quote the last poster. I have better things to do than copy/paste and type 1990's HTML tags.

I would like a larger text entry box on the desktop site. 1.5" x 4" is pretty ****ing small.
