Wasn't "no ads" one of the advertised features of having a paid TexAgs account?

Yup, have a banner ad for American Momentum Bank in a really annoying spot on mobile. Doubly annoying considering that the reasons I kept a Basic subscription were were access to PM's, use of the Watch List and no ads.

No, "no ads" is not a stated feature of a subscription. We used to have some language about "reduced" number of ads, but even that hasn't been in there in a number of years. There still are, however, a number of ads we remove for subscribers.

With more and more traffic moving to mobile (now at 60%), we had to find ways to allow our sponsors (who have allowed us to not raise our subscription price more than $1 in 7 years) to get their message out. We worked to make this ad as minimal as possible while serving its purposes.

I would have thought the increased sponsored threads would have taken care of that.

I will say that the banner ads are MUCH smaller than they used to be. I guess it's a compromise.

They are also in a TERRIBLE spot and is far too easy to click accidentally.

Thanks for the response, ooshwa.

I understand that you are trying to run a business and ad revenue is a part of that. IMO, the banner ad clutters up what is one of the cleanest mobile sites on the web. Plus, I keep clicking on the link when I try to scroll down or touch the other clickables at the top of the screen. First world problems, indeed.

It's in an absolutely horrible place. It's incredibly easy to hit it when you click your inbox or watchlist. It makes it nearly impossible for me to refresh the page by swiping down like I usually do.

I'm constantly hitting the ad and opening their site.

It's a real pain in the butt for a site I pay $25/month for.

It's a change to the user experience and ruins the clean, sleek look of the mobile site IMO.

I'd rather see more sponsored threads than ads like this.

It's better with the reduction of clickable space on the ad.
