Just happened again, same details.

I've gotten it several times in the last 24 hours on the Politics board.

Just had the same thing happen on iPad. Wanting to make sure texags isn't giving me the hiv

3rd time this time from Entertainment and on an iPad.

Same thing's happened to me a few times on iPad the past couple days. Plus Texags seems sluggish in general.

TigerDroppings having the same issue. Seems like a redirect scam maybe running off of the advertising system? Guessing it is the ad system because I use an ad blocker and this hasn't affected me at all.

Seen it from texags on a few different devices. Really annoying.

I'll add that if you look at devtools network activity while sitting on a static page of texags (like this thread) its crazy - tons of requests going through. Why so active on a page that is already loaded? Most of the activity seems to be ad related. And they don't stop when you switch to another browser tab either. Same in an incognito tab as well.

I'm on an ipad and getting the reroute to Mcafee virus scan - seems to be happening more frequently.

eta: ok, I was actively scrolling through the premium story on Cashius Howell and the Mcafee thing popped up. I closed TexAgs, opened, and started scrolling forums to get to this one and it popped up again. Previously it's only appeared after some inactive time on a screen.

Doesn't happen if you use Brave browser.

Don't leave Texags open on your computer. Just returned and found "the ad" open for who knows how long. I'm not techie enough to know if that hijack ad can do anything if you click nothing.
