Texas A&M legend Acie Law joins TexAgs as a contributor

I'm excited to announce that my former teammate and Texas A&M's most revered basketball player, former All-American and Cousy Award winner Acie Law IV, has agreed to begin providing content for the TexAgs Premium community.

This content will come in the form of special video features, analysis of Aggie basketball games and commentary on individual player and coaching performances, as well as weekly radio segments throughout the year.

"I was blessed to be able to play basketball at the highest level and now I'm looking forward to the beginning of a new journey," said Law. "Basketball and sports will always be a part of my life, just like my Aggie Family, which is why this will be a great way to stay involved with both."

We are excited to brainstorm some different ideas and content pieces for Acie to dive into and make his own, especially when it comes to special video features and being able to listen to his unique perspective.

"As just about any Aggie would be, I'm thrilled about what the addition of Acie Law means for TexAgs' coverage and subscribers," TexAgs Executive Editor Billy Liucci said. "Acie is among the most iconic A&M athletes regardless of sport and, while we all got to see his greatness on the court, he's passionate about the idea of charting a new course off it and we're excited for him to begin that leg of his journey with us."

After leading the A&M basketball program on a run capped during his senior year by a victory at Kansas, routine top 10 appearances and a Sweet 16, Acie was honored by Texas A&M as the first Aggie in any sport to have his or her jersey hung in the rafters in Reed Arena.

Following his senior year in College Station, Law was selected as the 11th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. After four years in the League, Acie made the transition to play professionally overseas. In Europe he won two Euroleague Championships with Olympiacos in 2012 and 2013, while being named the MVP of the final game in 2013.

During the 2013 offseason, Law had a surgery on his knee that would ultimately end his career on the court. Now, he is looking to pursue a career on the media side of sports.

And, of course, there's this:

Gig 'em, Acie.

That's pretty big. TexAgs raising the bar. I don't know of any other A&M basketball only analysts anywhere.

Shot against Kansas. One of my favorite memories from A&M.

Sorry but a quick point of order. Acie is not a "contributor." If he's on the team, he's the star of the damn team. So I suggest his title be "Lead Analyst."

"Texas A&M's most revered basketball player"?

Guess we're pretending that Deandre never played for us now?

don't think he knows what revered means. Note: infamous doesn't mean more famous.

The only highlight reel play I ever saw from Deandre was a massive putback dunk against Colorado. He did not contribute much in his short Aggie career

Not in the same league as Acie in terms of Aggie bb

This is absolutely not the point of this thread, and you're right, he's not in the same league as Acie.

But...

Is a ridiculous statement.

Nice acquisition, TexAgs. Acie is an incredible talent and one of the largest pieces in the resurgence of Aggie Men's hoops. Welcome aboard, Acie.
