Jalen Jones signs two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans
Success at the next level for seniors on the 2016 Texas A&M basketball team continued today as former Aggie basketball forward Jalen Jones signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Jones spent the summer with the Pelicans' summer league team in Las Vegas averaging 13.3 points a game while grabbing 6.2 rebounds in six games.
Since leaving Texas A&M, Jones has been tearing it up in the NBA G-League. As a rookie, he averaged 21.0 points per game along with 9.0 rebounds and was named to to the All-Rookie first team with the Maine Red Claws.
Jones becomes the second 2016 Aggie basketball senior to sign a two-way contract with an NBA club. Alex Caruso signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers back in July.
With the NBA's new G-League, players on a two-way contract have the ability to be called up to the NBA team for a maximum of 45 days during the season. To learn more about the NBA's two-way contracts click here.
