During Friday's edition of TexAgs Radio, the fishbowl's own Richard Zane joined to share updates from the latest in Aggie Athletics as a busy weekend is on tap in College Station with basketball season in full swing, action on the diamonds and much, much more.


Basketball (17-11, 6-9 in SEC)
In one of their most complete offensive performances of the year, Texas A&M defeated Georgia on Tuesday night at Reed Arena, 91-77.

  • The win completes the season sweep of the Bulldogs following an 81-79 victory in Athens on Jan. 4.
  • Quenton Jackson was a perfect 11-of-11 from the field and tied a career-high 31 points.
  • Four other Aggies joined Jackson in double figures as Henry Coleman III scored 15, and Tyrece Radford, Manny Obaseki and Hassan Diarra scored 10 points, each.

The Aggies look to go for the season sweep of Kermit Davis and the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday afternoon in Oxford.

  • Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on the SEC Network.
  • The Aggies defeated the Rebels on Jan. 11 in Bryan-College Station, 67-51.

Women’s Basketball (14-13, 4-11)
Gary Blair coached his final game at Reed Arena on Thursday night as the Aggies fell to top-ranked South Carolina, 89-48.

  • Prior to tipoff, “Gary Blair Court” was officially dedicated as Blair became the third NCAA women’s basketball coach to have a playing surface named in their honor.

  • Postgame, an emotional Blair addressed the Reed Arena crowd as he has just one regular-season contest left before retirement.

Texas A&M travels to Athens on Sunday afternoon to face No. 25 Georgia in the regular-season finale.

  • Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, and the game will be streamed on SEC Network+.

Baseball (4-0, 0-0 in SEC)
Jim Schlossnagle & Co. continued their perfect start by defeating Lamar in the first midweek game of the year, 9-3.

  • Texas A&M scored five in the first inning, punctuated by a Ryan Targac two-run home run.

  • Khristian Curtis: W, 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 2 K

The Aggies continue the homestand this weekend as the Maroon & White host Penn for a three-game series.

Softball (11-0, 0-0)
After having the midweek off, Jo Evans and the Aggies host the Reveille Classic this weekend at Davis Diamond, and the schedule has been reduced due to the threat of inclement weather in Bryan-College Station.

Pat Henry and the Aggies host the 2022 SEC Indoor Championships this weekend at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.

Women's Golf
No. 16 Texas A&M opened its spring slate this weekend by playing in the ICON Invitational at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble.

  • As a team, the Aggies finished fifth at 5-over (859) for the three rounds.
  • Jennie Park led the way for the Maroon & White, finishing tied for sixth at 7-under (209).

Men's Tennis (6-3, 0-0 in SEC)
The 18th-ranked Aggies look to get back on track this weekend with a pair of matches.

  • Friday: at No. 20 Oklahoma - 6 p.m. CT
  • Sunday: vs. SMU - 1 p.m. CT

Women’s Tennis (13-1, 0-0 in SEC)
No. 7 Texas A&M is back at Mitchell Tennis Center this Sunday to host Rice.
