What is our definition of "dawg"? Cause it sounds like y'all want an elite talent rather than just a bunch of tough guys. This team was tough as nails all season. A weak team would've folded when we started 6-5. Our outlook on all of these guys was so different a 2 weeks ago and we're overreacting way too much to a horrid performance.Method Man said:
That's a team of guys that worked great as a unit and had an elite trust for each other. Most of those guys aren't dawgs. They didn't get down on themselves much and rarely flinched when things went bad but that's not exactly the same thing. Taylor was close but 2/15 in the tourney game? Buzz made them a tough unit but individually I don't see too many mean MFers. Marble could be but he just picks up bad fouls when he's mad.
Incredible that the other 28 teams couldn't key on him and shut him downMethod Man said:
My opinion of the team as a whole is the same. They were resilient. Wade was amazing for much of the year but when Bama keyed on him they shut him down and he couldn't generate anything against Penn State. Jalen Jones, Robert Williams, Joseph Jones, Donald Sloan.
I mean all power to you but if you don't consider our first team all-sec PG that dropped 28 on the number 1 team in America a dawg I don't know what to tell youMethod Man said:
They have more dawgs to cover it. I don't consider him a dawg. He's just super skilled and better than everyone on the court which I said also works.
which is exactly why boots was a disappointment this year. Couldn't create consistently. We need guard help.bobinator said:
Being multiple is the biggest difference. We were really good when Wade Taylor was really good, we were not good at all when he wasn't good if we were playing a decent opponent. And not just his scoring, but nobody else could create anything.
We need more options or we're at the mercy of the draw even more than everyone already is.

Are we allowed to discuss things?
Let's discuss it then. How close do we think this program is pulling off seasons like Texas Tech and Baylor recently did, and now the horns?
Current roster, do we think this returning nucleus is pretty good?
Taylor
Radford
Coleman
Marble
Garcia
Washington
Obaseki
And if we can can add at least couple of really good 'skills and dawgs' transfer portal guys to the above…is that a team you could see at least Top-20 and Second Weekend potential?
How far away do we think we are now?
We had no NBA players on this year's team.Double Diamond said:
Buzz had guys like Jimmy Butler and Crowder. Total dogs. I don't see that here.
Mensah went into rim protection Beast Mode.Method Man said:
Y'all watching San Diego State? Not too skilled but dawg factor off the charts. Still might lose but they have Bama shook.

You can make a run with really skilled players or you can make a run with dawgs. We lack both. I think Buzz maximized what we have overall. He just hasn't recruited enough very skilled players or very tough players. Like Martellus said "we need more guys who eat with their hands".
