Hef wasn't on the availability report so I assume he's good to go.

Washington out sucks in games like these that we know are likely to be defensive grinds.

Not to be a downer, but the guy was in a boot at the OU game, you have to think it's a broken foot/ankle and he's done for the season

What? They put people in boots for a stubbed toe these days. Plus if he was out out they'd probably say something.

I was not aware that they put players in boots unless they had a broken foot/ankle, but I am not a medical guy at all, so it may be that I am just ignorant. As for your second point, I highly doubt Buzz would say anything; he usually gives no information on injuries.

Yup - best case it's an ankle sprain…

Per google:

Foot injuries that may require a boot
Fractures: Small foot fractures, shin fractures, toe fractures, and metatarsal stress fractures
Sprains: Severe sprains, grade 3 ligament sprains, and ankle sprains
Tendon injuries: Achilles tendon injuries and tendonitis
Shin splints: Shin splints can be treated with a walking boot
Plantar fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis, also known as heel pain, can be treated with a walking boot
Ball of foot pain: Ball of foot pain can be treated with a walking boot

I know buzz doesn't discuss injuries but I recall that if someone is out for the season he will acknowledge that.

Yeah, even most coaches that don't talk about injuries will acknowledge that someone is out for the season.

It's Buzz so who knows, but I wouldn't necessarily read into it.

We have two instances of our coaches having a guy hurt, putting him back in and then sitting him due to injury. At some point, the training staff needs to realize people can play through pay with adrenaline but maybe they should sit.

If I had to guess, Washington is not that bad and could play but they want him 100% before he comes back.

Awesome to see, thanks for sharing! I hope he is back as soon as he is healthy. I really thought he was done for the year when I saw him in that boot, glad to learn that a boot doesn't necessarily mean a significant injury.

My god some on this post are apocalyptic. I've seen and heard about kids in boots in all sports that are back as soon as the next game. We don't know what's up. but out for season is not the conclusion here. I swear some people don't follow sports.

I'm currently dealing plantar fasciitis/ heel pain and it's not a quick fix. I hope it's a light sprain or something easily healed.

If I'm Buzz, I'm having the entire team walking around in boots all day, better safe than sorry!

My son has sprained his ankle pretty bad 3 times in the last year. Been in a boot twice and then played 2 weeks later. Not uncommon for all sorts of sprains, just for precaution.

The boot when it came out was a game changer. Low tech easy to install and helped a wide range of foot injuries

Do they even use ankle casts anymore ?
