we are 20-6 playing a top 10 schedule.

sometimes you just don't have it. we struggled to dribble the ball at times. win on saturday and nobody remembers this game.

To advance in the tournament they are going to have to play complete games. They can't go long stretches with no scores. Eventually a good tourney team with good coaching will seize that momentum and shut you down. And all the talk about the team of the decade during the season just won't matter much after that.

I just don't think that's true at all.

I've yet to see this team play a complete game and they are 20-6 and 9-4 in by far the toughest conference in America this year (and possibly ever).

'We can beat any good team or lose to any good team " is not a good recipe for deep run in March Madness. We have no choice but to roll with the punches here with our team. Fun to watch? Yes. But all the talk about "Best Conference Ever" and "All Decade Team" won't matter if we are 'one and done' in the NCAA tourney because we went 10 scoreless minutes in the second half of our first game.

At some point the team needs to play a full 40 minutes. Offense AND Defense production is needed for 40 full minutes.

Getting blown out like that is the outlier to this entire season but go ahead and use it as the barometer for the team if you want.

My advice is to flush this tire and move on

Beat the Vols and all is right again

We are unfortunately offensively challenged in the base case, but last night was a terrible game and atypical.

We were out hustled, didn't value the ball, etc which is not who we are.

We have been a great rebounding team and defensive team. That's is our DNA and we've been damn salty this year

Inconsistent ? We have 12 Quad 1 wins which is like top 5. We have lost 5 games..! I agree the games aren't always pretty but we're pretty consistent since most games are 1-2 possessions.
Every team has a bad night on the road, if we were 14-13 you could say we're inconsistent

Taylor and Manny aren't in the same neighborhood. Manny isn't a big piece of the puzzle this year. Anything we get from him is a bonus. Taylor has been pretty consistent this year and not unlike a lot of good teams, we struggle when our best players have really bad games. I'd argue that our style of play is a lot less reliant on individuals meeting their standard than other teams at our level.

Can't it be somewhere in between?

I can't see us ending up a two seed. We struggle too much against mid-to-pretty-good teams and get roasted by the really good ones. Still think we're a low 3 seed. Maybe 4 if we really collapse down the stretch

Here is what I think most people have problems with.

Aggie Dad 26 - last post on this board prior to yesterday was *****ing about the tu game. Every post about bb has been *****ing about us, or talking about uniforms or tickets. No posts when A&M actually wins game, but comes out strong when they lose anything.

MidlandOil$ - no posts on this board going back to last summer besides this one.

Aginnebraska - as mentioned before, no posts since mid-January until tonight.

So no comments when we won at Ole Miss, beat OU, won at USCe, won at MU, throttle UGA in the 2nd half and beat Arkie.

Magically show up when we lose one.

I think that is why people get annoyed.

I'd argue Texas Tech, Purdue, Creighton and Missouri are really good teams…

We beat them all.

We just lost our first game of the year at full strength. I know it's fun to freak out but there really isn't any truth to the generalizations you are throwing around.

Who are these really good teams that are toasting us?
Bama? Nope
Tech? Nope

Last night we played poorly.
Tennessee has lost a game by 30
Florida by 20
Houston lost to San Diego state
Iowa state has lost by 17
All have multiple losses.

If the standard for a game you should win is the pregame spread, which is how most people look at it, we were underdogs in both of the games you listed. Therefore by definition neither game was a game we should win.

We were also underdogs for both Ole Miss and MU, so basically your entire argument makes no sense.

If you expect the team to win the games they should, then they wouldn't be "games". They would be "outcomes". When you play a game there is the capacity to not win.

I mean this is technically true for anyone then, right? Not sure I really understand this mentality, which I've seen on here repeatedly, when we haven't lost a game to a bad team all season. All six of our losses are in Q1, four of which have been true road games.
This team doesn't blow out decent teams, but they have shown the ability to absolutely wear down any team that they're clearly better than.
