As I recall, Buzz tried really hard to keep him, but he wanted Buzz to promise he would be a starter the next season with Boots and Taylor coming back. Even though Diarra didn't start on UConn the next season, we could've definitely used him but we don't get Phelps in the transfer portal if we had Diarra and Taylor in the backcourt IMO

Diarra's brother is on staff at UConn so I'd imagine that has way more to do with it than PT.

He's probably a great kid and Buzz has been extremely loyal to him BUT watch the film, he's a disaster on the court. WAY more negative than positive when he's on offense.

He should be Buzz's last option in the SEC and NCAA. Use him for situational fouls or maybe a min or two to give someone a breather.

Coleman is the all-time leading offensive rebounder at Texas A&M.

Jace can be the 5th guy on the court if the rest of the lineup is: Wade, Phelps, Andy/Solo, Payne/Coleman. As others have said he does bring defense and rebounding.

The problem is when we have something like:
Phelps, Hef, manny, Solo, Jace on the court at the same time. That's not good for anyone.

Impactful for what? How they impact our team? Players impact a game for a multitude of reasons. Do you mean to tell me that IV, Andy, Solo, Payne, Phelps would not be impactful for almost all teams across the country, including Duke?
