... a second weekend NCAAT Team - maybe a third weekend with another "Senior Night Performance" in an Elite Eight game!

1. Getting outscored by tu in double OT was great for THIS team - as they are senior laden and performed well against NCAAT teams all year - OOC and in conference. They don't need the "extra confidence" a less experienced team might require and get from a deep conference tournament run. They ALREADY got their MOJO back on Senior Night at Reed and on the road in Baton Rouge.

2. March Manny is BACK!

3. Old "driving the lane and getting fouled" Wade Taylor is back!

4. And the Dominican kid who took 1 seed Houston to OT with a clutch 3-point make in the round of 32 last year has shown that we can also count on him for some extra scoring feom behind the line going forward.

5. Speaking of the Dominican Rodman - both he AND Henry Coleman got double doubles yesterday.

Except for some turnovers and missing too many foul shots - our Aggies played well against a desperate and talented tu team.

Now they can go home, rest up, heal up and find out on Selection Sunday (where we will likely match the highest seed ever earned in March Madness by a Texas Aggie Men's Basketball Team) which team and which site we will be invited to go to to start our historic deep run in this year's NCAAT!

BTHO March Madness and win our next 6 games to close out this season on a great note!!!

Phelps 3-19
Wade 5-18 (at least he got to the ft line - but also had 6 turnovers)

We're not going to win a lot of games when our biggest 2 volume shooters shoot a combined 8 for 37 (21%). The rest of the team shot 51%. Maybe our worst shooter and Wade, who is having a down year percentage-wise, should quit taking so many poor shots.

That's coaching... which we seem to have little of on the offensive end.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

I think the Marilyn Mansons won't start to quiet down till after Section Sunday. We are stuck with "Burn Down Reed" until then. Bad timeout. I get it. I'm over it. We are still going to get into the tournament with a great seed.

Just think how Vandy feels? They had to try and rally against tu and they failed.

you said it all right here with this phrase.."missing too many foul shots".

This will be the achilles heel of this team. It WILL result in a come from behind loss.

It's put up or shut up time for the team. If they don't get to the second weekend, this year is a disappointment plan and simple.

This is a team that can make a run.
This is a team that can lose in the first round.

It just depends on how we play and shot selection and how we take care of the ball.
I don't think we would lose in the first round, but its definitely possible. The second round matchup is going to be a dogfight and if it's a 6 seed I would not be shocked if we are the betting underdog.

Agree completely.

I feel pretty confident about opening game against a 14 seed.

For the round of 32, I think we should be able to handle any team on Colleyville's 5, 6, or 7 seed line that may end up being our 6 seed opponent - assuming THEY are not upset by the 11 seed that they play in the first round (and there are some good 11 seeds) - except I want no part of BYU the way they have been playing as of late!

I just think we will see a more focused and less frantic team the first weekend of the NCAAT.

Obviously we need to play one game at a time and survive and advance, BUT I believe most would agree that Sweet 16 is the ultimate INITIAL goal - with "anything can happen" after that to give us a chance to get to the third weekend.

Gig'em!

In the last month we have lost to Vandy, Miss St and Texas which are three teams that will be seeded worse than 6 seeds. I expect a second round game (if we get there) to be a dogfight decided in final 2 minutes.

Well the third weekend is the final four so not sure I see that outcome but it's definitely possible depending how the matchups fall.

I do feel pretty good about getting to week 2. The team did the work needed to get a premium seed and will thus be favored in the first 2 games.

They just lost to a team whose HC was going to get fired had they lost. That's not a good sign at all, especially in March, when teams should be playing to their full potential. I'm having a hard time understanding OP's sunshine pumping.

Because we were a dumb timeout call away from winning the game. because we beat the best team in the country last week to go along with one of the best collections of wins in the country. Because we are pretty locked into a premium seed. Because we are a senior laden team heading into an event where experience matters.

This is a potential 2nd-3rd wkend team, but also the potential to be one and done team. They have shown that all year long.

Hopefully seeded high enough to get at least thru the 1st wkend at a minimum, but until I see the bracket, I'm not banking nor betting on it.

The weaknesses of this team remain as they have throughout the season. It'll totally depend on the matchups on how far we go.

They haven't come close to losing to a bad team all year which is what we will face in the opening round. Being one and done would be a huge surprise.

The one thing I hope is true is that the SEC is really as good as it is hyped. I hope we've been battle tested and dominate all non-SEC teams and then in elite 8 or final four, we have a 50/50 game against another SEC team that we can win if we play well. Icing at that point.

Inconsistent FT and offense = lots of close games. We are a high risk to lose when we have a bad FT night, bad offense night, and/or opponent having a 3-point shooter on fire. The odds of one or more of these happening in the first two games is statistically high. We can overcome one of them in game 1, but after that, any of those happen and we are likely unable to overcome it. Hope we go on our own hot run. Only good from yesterday is we get some rest. That helped our team a lot earlier this year. Defensive teams get ground down and I hope we start week 1 fresh.
Proposition Joe

We're capable of beating anyone, but capable of losing to any Top 50ish team.

I think we're a coinflip against any seed 2-13.

But that means if we're a 3 seed that starting in round 2 we're just need coin to come up heads 3 times to find ourselves in the Final Four.
