Has Ags in Denver as a 4 seed vs Yale

If seeds hold, Ags would play these teams after Yale for the NC

Purdue
Coogs
Vols
Duke
Aub/UF winner

Pointless to look at matchups using Lunardi's projections.

So much for conference tournament games being meaningless. The embarrassing loss to tu firmly got them into the tournament and dropped us a full seed.

This is good internetting here. Mad about something that may not be true, based off simulations not done by the actual people involved, before it's even happened.

No, we won't. People are basing this stuff off of people that aren't the actual committee. We have absolutely no idea how the committee would have had these teams stacked up without the conference tournaments.

If you poll two different groups of people you might get two different sets of results, it doesn't mean anything "changed."

You're basing that off of Lunardi's projection that currently has tu out of the tournament? Lol

Ahh. So now you're hedging in case my post proves true. Fair enough.

I'm basing that on two time honored truths.

1. A&M NEVER gets the benefit of the doubt.
2. tu ALWAYS gets the benefit of the doubt.

That's just the way it's always been.

I'm not hedging at all. Texas might make it, we might be a 4, all I'm saying is we'll have no idea if the conference tournaments really made a difference or not unless the committee chair outright says it did.

We don't have a poll off the committee when the week starts, so drawing conclusions from the final bracket compared to other people's bracketologies coming into the week is pointless.

We literally got the benefit of the doubt last year. We were F4O going into the conference tourney and ended up a 9 seed.

People hold onto the 2022 snub as if the committee has ALWAYS screwed us. It's just not true.

Last year is actually a perfect example of what I'm talking about. A lot of people had us near the cut line or even out but several of us on here thought that might be pretty far off and it turns out it was. We were well clear of the cut line all along to the committee.

Correct

Up until 2022 I feel like we've always gotten a pretty fair to favorable shave from the committee

The snub year and the lower seeding next where we got matched up with Penn st we didn't , but we now know that's because in both of those seasons our non conf was horrible

If t.u. gets a tourney bid, they should send us a big Thank You note along with a check for $5M. We choked away two games against them that would have ushered them into the Big Dance.

I'm sure this year's snub will have a new excuse by the committee?!?

Fwiw… Yale's top 4 scorers shoot 42% from 3

we refuse to guard the 3… Buzz has said as much… we'd be 1-and-done vs a Yale

I'll give you $100 if you can find a quote where Buzz says we don't guard the three. Not "we're okay with our opponents shooting a lot of threes" but saying we don't guard them.

Bob… ya that… in post games, he's said many times, we are ok with allowing other teams to shoot a bunch of threes.." he said he plays the percentages, he'd rather be there for the rebound"…. translates to me we don't guard the 3… am i exaggerating a little?… yes… but we don't guard the 3… i think it's terrible..
bulverdeaggie93
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Buzz is all about rebounding percentage… doesn't speak about us making shots… the reason we are so go at ORB, is because we take so many terrible wild shots and it's anyone's guess where the shot will come off… but we hang our hat on us being really good at ORB's

You're misinterpreting what he's saying. The three, especially by guys that aren't normally big scoring threats, might be a lower priority for us than defending the ball and the paint but that doesn't mean we just flat out don't guard it.

We have a top ten-ish defense depending on your metric of choice and opponents are 160th in 3 pt percentage but folks continue to act like we just stand around watching teams absolutely rain threes on our heads.

Have a few teams done it? Yes. But they're mostly teams that rain threes on everyone. They're teams with good ball handlers that can break us down and then use those breakdowns to find open guys. But we're not just standing in the paint watching them fire away.

Bob.. agree on some.. but will also disagree on some.. we make 3-point champions of so many players because they're standing outside the arc wide open, us scrambling trying to play catchup and find them.

When has he said that?

So then how come we have won games against teams who shoot 3 pointers better than Yale?
