I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. I've even said on here that it feels like a situation where he'd leave. But you keep posting like you have some kind of insider knowledge so I want to know how confident you are in it.

Um, no, I'm not going to stop being a fan of Aggie bball if Buzz doesn't leave. Been around since Melvin and not going anywhere.
Pointing out the absurd self sabotage of the fake and/or uninformed 'fans' around here who are either ****s just waiting and hoping for the team to fail and the prog to move on from Buzz

The amount of trolls on this site is amazing to me. People are calling out Iraq2 as a bot (which he is), but actually interact with bozo bots throwing out rumors that they 'heard' every 48 hours.
I went to a former student even 4 weeks ago with some heavy hitters. They were telling me 100% that Buzz had already taken the Indiana job. Obviously I never posted it, and it turned out to be wrong - per usual. And these guys would actually know, if anyone would know.
So a guy that created his username in the last 6 weeks to reference a TV show and has 49 posts (probably 50% on this thread) just doesn't merit much interaction, IMO.
Course, if you guys are just messing with him to pass the time, so be it. Carry on.

I've said before, Buzz isn't leaving A&M. I don't have insider information but it's common sense. He knows how to assemble a team and this situation sets up well for that…a few solid proven pieces to build around with young talent and the portal which he does well. We may not be as good next year but certainly have a good chance to be competitive. Plus, Buzz's roots are here as evidenced by the fact he came here in the first place. At this point in his life, he would be foolish to leave. On the other hand, if we don't start getting deeper into the tournament, it could change the dynamics. Other than that, he will have what he wants right here.
One day I hope we can get to the point we don't care if our coach leaves and w3 can just hire someone else and keep on going. We have to 'worry' more about our coaches/players leaving than any other school.
Only in basketball. I don't think we've had a football coach taken since like Bear Bryant and Schloss was like a one off in baseball that had a lot unique variables.
I actually think we're to the point that we could hold on to a basketball coach much better than we used to, but this is more about Buzz's history than anything to do specifically with us as a school/program.

Correct. the fact that he is his own rep really changes the dynamic as well. This is why I've been pretty split on the three options and that none would surprise me. I do see the likelihood, in descending order, as stays, retires (for now), and then leaves.
I do know from someone who I think both Buzz and him would consider themselves close, but who claims not to know the plan, that the toll of the season really wears on him and the family, FWIW. That is what caused me to give a little more credence to the retirement talk. I also think loyalty to his staff, and the knowledge that it wouldn't be easy for most of those guys to find as good of positions elsewhere due to the unique and insular nature of the program, will be a key consideration.
Mostly, I don't think it's worth the mental/emotional energy to worry about it when we're in the middle of a great season and hopefully a run to the second weekend
It is silly to talk about a rebuild- so time to go... With nil/portal, almost every year is "rebuild" for most teams. A&m was the exception to the rule the last couple years.. now they will join the norm like nearly everyone else.
