For those that think no one in the Aggie fanbase could do this, look at the crap that can be posted here about players in a public forum. I will also agree a lot comes from gamblers but of course many of them betting on Jace will have A&M ties. Of course other fan bases do it as well and I took Buzz's comments more about the overall state of college athletics.


There's a difference between what we say in game threads vs real life. In game threads, players, coaches, fellow posters…are called everything under the sun (minus racial slurs). I just don't think real ags would ever trash players outside of an in game thread

You are living in fantasy land if you don't think their some racist aggies who are also unhinged enough to DM players. Obviously anonymously, because they would also be cowards. When you have insanely high enrollment, the sheer numbers mean they exist.

Man, like I totally get what you're saying, but how is he suppose to differentiate from die hard fans to just "fans". He's calling it like he sees it. The thing we should do is understand not alienate or criticize.

That's not actually evidence of anything. Like saying for sure there are aliens because the universe is so big. I guess it's possible that somebody cares more about bball than us on the message board and it possible that person is a major racist that for some reason watches a majority black sport and then for some reason sends racist messages to our tenth best player.

Not to mention the last time an A&M student claimed racism it was a setup by him and his cheesecake friend and they tried to ruin an innocent guys life who was just walking his dog.

If racism exists, expose it and I will stand up and condemn it with you. But too many false flags over the years leaves me needing proof.

On a related note, all of us could point to at least 6 posters here that only come out to post the worst possible things about players or coaches or the school and there is zero chance they actually attended Texas A&M. When things go well they disappear but the second things wobble here they come. (Looking at you, 2nd Gen Dip****)…. It's not hard to sabotage this fanbase. We're a predominantly white, conservative school, of which there are only a handful in the nation. It's an easy target if you choose to lead a miserable life that way.
I resolve in 2026 to be more tolerant and respectful of trolls and emotionally fragile, overly pessimistic posters so they don’t run crying to the mods and have me banned for three days.

We got what 60,000 on campus and we can't reliably fill the student section at Reed but apparently the handful of diehard hoops fans we do have don't like black people. Think about how racist the 57,000 who don't like basketball must be.

I said this to the people in the other thread, but it seems you need to hear it too. THe vast majority of us are not who Jace is saying is sending him this stuff. Its just the small 1% of idiots.

If you are getting offended by him saying its happening, you either have to understand the above or you have a guilty conscience. So I think you just have to understand there are crappy people out there, and going to A&M doesn't magically filter them out

The whole sec outside of a couple are predominantly white and conservative. Most of the schools have fans that make us look like saints.

There's the overly negative fans like you find on Texags that complain about a player's performance. Now that they're essentially professional employees, they will need to expect some of that.

But death threats and racist comments? That's a big difference, and way over the top. And if Jace and Buzz say the players are getting them, I believe it. I just don't know where, who, or how it's being done. Haven't seen anything like that on Texags. Maybe the comments are being made and the mods (who do a great job) are taking care of it before most of us see it.

i believe jace when he says he has received them
i think some do probably come from ags people are idiots everywhere
i think it is a 1000 times worse at other schools who truly love basketball
i think kids have to grow thicker skin if you want to play big boy sports in today's age
i think kids should turn off social media during the season
i love that jace is a christian and handles his success with humility

so many things about this can be true and i think typical of espn this is a hit piece on a&m.

Some people are *******s who take sports too seriously.

That's it.

It was true 50 years before social media and it will be true 50 years from now.

But telling today's generation of players "don't look at social media" is like telling kids 30 years ago "don't ever watch tv" or "stop talking to everyone on campus during the season."

I'd wager it reached a boiling point for our guy, probably with his family in close proximity at the tournament and one of the parents said something to the coach, who decided to address it with the media because he had a national platform after a tournament win.

Every reporter there is looking for some angle about something original besides the coronation of Jesus Flagg so when something like this pops up, someone's going to blow it up as a huge story.

Yeah it was a bad look for Hefner. He lucked out that he fumbled it so it wasnt as bad. If you are a guy that never plays and want to get in the scorebook then maybe, although Buzz would still be pissed with anyone that shot in that situation, much less dunk it.

For all the hate he has taken by his own fans, I have no problem with him trying to get a big dunk to put the game away.

Game was already pretty much out of reach. If the other team doesn't like it, they could try playing better to prevent wide open looks to the basket.

I highly highly highly doubt the validity of this being Aggie basketball fans.

A) In comparison to other schools that routinely make the tournament, we have very few diehard basketball fans

B) If you're an Aggie basketball fan, Carter is pretty dang low on your list of players to possibly even care about

C) Death threats? Multiple? Combined with racism? Really? Something doesn't add up. Surely all are anonymous and attributing them to Aggie/s has about zero merit
